![]() With the inaugural 1984 vintage and the facetious Nalle family crest, Bob Johnson's drawings have appeared annually on the side of the Zinfandel label. We see wine consumption as a joyful event and so a wee bit of humor is appropriate. Bob agrees and is a willing accomplice. Way back in 1984, before Postmodernism was de rigueur, the wine gods implored us to create the ubiquitous label "artist series." We felt the wine business was already full of its cultural self (Randall Grahm excluded) and could use some levity. The gods agreed and, with the help of Gail Ginder-Shaw, we met artist Bob Johnson. |
